Smart human resources should be developed: Telecom Minister
Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar said, the new generation is our greatest strength in building a smart Bangladesh. I will continue to fight to provide digital skills to the new generation with all the energy of my life. Bangladesh will be the best country in the world in 2041 if today's youth can be skilled in using digital devices. To achieve the goal of implementing Smart Bangladesh, there is no alternative to working in collective initiatives to develop smart human resources with digital technology knowledge.
The minister opined so while speaking as the chief guest at the parent gathering organized by Ananda Multimedia School Kishoreganj branch in Kishoreganj Sadar Upazila today.
The minister highlighted the initiatives taken by him to promote modern education on the model of the developed world apart from conventional education and said that houses and cars are not big assets. Nothing can be better than investing in a child's education. Post and Telecommunication Minister Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina wanted smart people to build a smart Bangladesh and said that, Bangladesh will be smart if you students are smart.
Mustafa Jabbar, the dreamer of digital transformation of education, said, "If you live in the present age and cannot use any digital device, your future is in dark." Traditional education is constantly changing. By using digital technology, your education system is being started through digital medium by sending away paper books. The day is not far away, when every student will go to school, college and university with a laptop instead of a lot of books in their bags. He said, we have already started the journey of digital transformation of education through digital content in 650 primary schools and 28 neighborhood centers in hilly areas. Another thousand primary schools are in the process of being brought under this programme.

Mustafa Jabbar, the founder of Ananda Multimedia, a digital educational institution in different parts of the country on his own initiative since 1997, highlighted the need to establish digital schools and said, teaching on computers in a British school in Gulshan of the capital moved me largely. It can be said that I got the idea of establishing a digital school from there. The minister said that the internet is the best library in the world. Addressing the students, the minister said that by using the smart phone properly, you can gain your knowledge and become the best of the bests. Again by misusing this phone you can ruin your education life. The transformation of your family, society and country will depend on you. He said, the country is above all. Nothing can be bigger than the country.
The Minister referred to Bangladesh as an exemplary instance of the Digital Bangladesh program and said that Bangladesh is the first country in the world to declare it as a digital country and Bangladesh is also the first country in the world as Smart Bangladesh. In 2008 Bangladesh announced to become Digital Bangladesh and it has been implemented. He said that in 2009 Digital Britain, India in 2014 Digital India and Pakistan in 2019 announced Digital Pakistan. The definition of smartness has changed and now in information technology the more knowledge one has is called a smart one. He said, those who are studying in this institution are lucky. Because Ananda Multimedia School has done it long ago, the way the government is digitizing educational institutions.
Ananda Multimedia School Kishoreganj Branch Chairman Shahidul Islam Ritu presided over the event and Bijoy Digital CEO Jasmine Jui spoke as a special guest.
